Questions

They are wide, flat switches you press instead of flip; Decora is Leviton's trademark for its rocker line, and Lutron and Legrand call their versions paddle switches. All of them fit the rectangular decorator opening, about 2 5/8 by 1 5/16 inches, so they need a decorator wall plate rather than a toggle plate.

A standard one-gang plate is 4.50 by 2.75 inches; midway is 4.88 by 3.13 inches and oversized, often called jumbo, is 5.25 by 3.50 inches, per Leviton. Each extra gang adds about 1.81 inches of width. Larger plates hide a rough or oversized wall cutout, and designer brands often use their own sizes, so check the product page.

Usually yes, because decorator-style devices share one rectangular opening and toggle switches share another, so most plates fit other brands' devices of the same style. Some systems are closed, since a Buster + Punch plate is a frame that takes only Buster + Punch modules. Colors and metals rarely match across makers, so buy the plate and switch from one line when the finish matters.
